Mary Elting, widow of Theodore Deyo, died at her home in New Paltz today, Wednesday, May 28, in her 87th year. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services, which will be held at her late home, Saturday May 31, at 2:30 p.m.

Mary Elting, widow of Theodore Deyo, died at her residience in this village on Wednesday morning in her 87th year of her age. She had been in failing health for a year and had been confined to her bed about four months. Relatives and friends are invited to the services at her late residence on Saturday May 31, at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Deyo leaves two daughters, Miss Sarah Deyo of this village and Mrs. B. D. Ostrander of White Plains ; also one brother James Elting of Mediapolis, Iowa. Mrs. Deyo was the daughter of Moses Elting, whose farm was what is now the Samuel C. Waring place, east of our village. She always lived in this town as had her ancestors since Roelif Elting came here from Kingston, over two centuries ago. She was a good kind woman and especially well versed in the family history of the New Paltz people and customs of the olden time. Of the considerable number from whom we obtained valuable information incorporated in the History of New Paltz she was about the last survivior.
