Mrs. Dorothea H. Riggins, 66, of Afton, died Sunday at Beloit Hospital.

Born May 31, 1920, in Barrett, Minn., the former Dorothea Sandberg, married Leo L. Riggins there on Dec. 14, 1951. He died Nov. 23, 1983. She was admissions director at Caraville Nursing Home from 1972 until retiring in 1984. Prior to that she was employed by Rock County Social Services Department. She attended Luther College, Decorah, Iowa and Minneapolis Business College. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline Mead of Beloit and Ann Bartle of Dover, N. H.; seven grandchildren, a sister, Ann Anderson of Westby; and two brothers, John and Paul, both of Barrett.

Services will be at 11 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rosman-Uehling-Kinser Cranston Road Chapel. Memorials may be given to the church or Beloit Hospice Inc.
