YOUNG, James Darrell, Sr., age 82, of Middletown, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 28, 1927 in Beckley, WVA to John and Glenna (Wills) Young. James was a mechanic for Cohen Auto Parts for 11 years and was self-employed after that. James was also a very talented musician for over 35 years, playing the guitar, fiddle, banjo and other instruments and was founder of the Country Knights Band. He attended Community Harvest Church in Germantown, was past president of FOE 528 where he was a trustee, and a member of the Moose 501. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild Mark E. Young, Jr.; and sisters Imogene Riddle and Mary Walters. James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary E. Young; children Carol (Dennis) Wills of Hunter, James D. (Jackie) Young, Jr. of Franklin, Mark (Annette) Young, John (Chris Mack) Young, Matthew (Rhonda) Young, Tim (Tammy Corder) Young all of Middletown and Darah (Dale) Reffitt of Monroe; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Don Young and Jack (Peggy) Young; sister Sharon (Estil) Barnette; and many other loving family members and friends. A Visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm with a service from the FOE 528 at 7:00 pm at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 10:30 am with Pastor Duane Harney officiating also at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mark E. Young, Jr. Scholarship, 1300 First Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45044.
