Prevett - Eugene Tiger, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and teacher passed from this life on August 12, 2004. Bron in 1928, he spent his formative years in the farming community of Wilson, located near Henryetta. After serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict he received a Teaching degree at Northeastern State University. There he met his first wife, Pauline King, who preceded him in death in 2001. Together, they raised 3 children, Donald, Dale and Deidre. Eugene also received Master's degrees from OU and from Rutgers University. He taught Math and coached basketball in Henryetta before moving to Miami, OK in the late 1960s. There he taught at NEO A&M, subsequently serving as Chairman of the Math & Physical Sciences department before retiring in 1988. Eugene and Pauline were founding members of Eastview Church of Christ in Miami, where Eugene served many years as an elder. Together they were tireless in their care of elderly family members. In 1995 Eugene and Pauline moved to the Tulsa area to be near their children. In 2002 Eugene married a second time to Patsy Jones Brown, who provided him with considerable joy and comfort in his remaining years. Eugene was easy-going, loved by all and a blessing to those who knew him. After battling cancer and related complications for the past year, his life ended peacefully, surrounded by his family. In addition to his children and Patsy, he is survived by his sister, Vida Sue Henry, 2 daughters-in-law and 5 grandchildren. Our lives are blessed for having known him and we give thanks to God that he has been called Home. Service, August 14, 2 p.m. at the Henryetta Church of Christ. Interment immedicately following at Salt Creek Cemetery north of Henryetta. Service is under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home, Henryetta, (918) 652-4461.
