"Curly" Amato passed away at home on July 4, 2006 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Africa and came to the United States as a young child. He was very proud to have served in the Army during World War II and also very proud of his family. He was married to his beloved wife Louise for 58 years. Curly's" passions were coaching baseball, music and providing for his family. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Louise Amato of Auburn, Calif.; three daughters Rhonda O'Brien (Tom) of Medford, Ore., Aletha (Lee) Callison of Roseville, Calif. and Pat Kline also of Roseville, Calif.; two sons Bob Amato (Pam) of N. San Juan, Calif. and Kerry Amato of Auburn; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Pietrina and Alfonso Amato; his brother Alfonso Amato; two sisters Mary Amato and Ninfa Amato. A visitation will be held at Chapel of the Hills on Monday, July 10, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. The funeral will take place at Chapel of the Hills on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the New Auburn Cemetery.
