CHARLES WILLIAM "BILL" - age 76, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at his residence. He was employed with Anderson County Highway Dept. He was an active member of Valley View Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton for 40+ years where he held office of Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Song Leader. He was a retired insurance agent and farmer. He was preceded in death by 1st wife, Frankie Lee Long, 2nd wife, Mary Long; sister, Lorene Holbrook; brothers, James, Joe & John Long and 8 half-brothers and sisters. Survivors: wife: Polly Ruby Long and nephew Randy Adkins; sons: Charles (Chuck) W. Long, Jr. and wife Connie and children Taylor, Walker Lee, Annette and Jannette, Harold F. Long and wife Arlene and children, Rachel, Heather & Crystal, Darold L. Long and wife Lisa and son, Brandon; daughters: Debra Long Stair and husband Darryl and children Brian & Cody, Karen Nolan & husband Avon and daughter Laura, Diana Long and children Calvin & William, Louise Johnson & husband Clifford and children Loretta & Jimmy, Loretta VanOver and husband Robert and daughter Samantha, Teresa Clark and husband Robert and son Jacob, Nicole (Nixi) Long; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 29th from 6 to 8 at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1st at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Seiber & Rev. Scott Jones officiating.
