Newspaper - Emily Caroline Norton Louder passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ester Cook of Bountiful, on Jan 31, 1907 of heart trouble and old age. She was bedfast only about a week. She had been almost totally blind for fifteen years. She had lived with her daughter all the time except one or two years since her husband Richmond Louder died about fifteen years ago.
Deceased was born in New York State. She passed through the trials of Nauvoo and arrived in these valleys about thirty years ago. She had lived in Bountiful nearly all the time since her arrival in Utah. She was at Haun's Mill massacre and was personally acquainted with the Prophet Joseph Smith and heard him preach many times. Her father was buried on the plains as they were crossing. She had forty-two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral services were held in the Bountiful Tabernacle, Sunday at 2 p.m. The speakers were Patriarch Edwin Pace, Bishop Cook of Syracuse, Amos Cook, Thomas Howard and an Elder Burrows of Scofield, Carbon County.
