Robert served as a Private First Class with the 31st Infantry, 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War.

He lived in Bradford, PA

Robert was "Killed In Action" at the Hwachon Resevoir, North Korea during battle and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Pvt. Robert Allen, 22, son of Mrs. Emery J. Allen, 275 Seaward Ave., Bradford, was killed in action In Korea on Sept. 2. according to a Department of Defense telegram received by his mother. Born May 18, 1929, Pvt. Allen was a graduate of Bradford High School, class of 1948. and was employed by W. R. Case and Sons Cutlery Company, prior to his entrance into the U.S. Army in January. 1951. He trained at Camp Breckenridge, Ky., prior to overseas shipment and had been in Korea since June 15. Survivors, in addition to his mother, are two brothers. E. J. Allen, also in Korea, and Fred Allen, at home, and his grandfather, Peter Grant, also of the Seaward Ave. address.
