The sudden death of W. S. (Bay) ALLEN, 48, cattle buyer, Saturday afternoon from a heart attack came as a shock to the community. Mr. ALLEN died while conversing with a friend in a downtown business establishment.
Funeral services were conducted at the Wilson Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock by Rev. P. E. Yarborough, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Ed PADGET, Phillip CARROLL, Gus BRYAN, Frank KEIM, Mack MARTIN and John LUTHI. Burial was made at the Ochiltree cemetery.
William Scott ALLEN was born near Whitesville, Missouri, February 27, 1891. While still a child his family moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma, where he resided until coming to Gray, Oklahoma, in 1906.
The ALLEN family lived at Gray until he grew to manhood and enlisted in the Army in 1917. In 1920 he moved to Perryton.
William ALLEN was united in marriage to Miss Lorraine VESTAL at Watonga, Oklahoma, in 1930.
Bay ALLEN as he was known to everyone passed away September 2, 1939, at the age of 48 years, five months and five days at Perryton.
HE leaves to mourn his passing his wife, one sister, Mrs. Hattie DUNN of Cimarron, New Mexico, one brother, Walter B. ALLEN of Perryton.
