OLE BANG A dark gloom spread over our whole community when it learned that our townsman, Ole Bang, had passed away in death on Monday afternoon after a week's illness.
Mr. Bang, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Bang, of this village was born in the old homestead town of Springdale on Feb 18, 1881. He received his schooling at the Springdale Center School and grew to manhood in Springdale.
He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Marie Offerdahl January 1, 1906 by the Rev. S. Gunderson. The first five years of their marriage they lived on the old homestead and then they moved to Mt. Horeb where they built a comfortable home. One daughter was born to their union, Arlene Juliet.
Besides his sorrow stricken wife and daughter the deceased leaves to mourn his aged parents, four brothers, Halvor, Springdale, Lewis, Mt. Horeb; Martin, Springdale; and Andrew, Garner, IA. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. C.J. Lunde, Mt. Horeb and Mrs. Clarence Robson, Middleton.
Mr. Bang was employed by J.C. Fjelstad and was a trustworthy and faithful worker. He was strictly honest and reliable in every way and had the confidence and good will of everybody. He was a faithful husband and loving father and a true citizen and many are the regrets of his departure.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 1 o'clock in the home and 1:30 at the Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. His pastor, Rev. Anderson, will officiate assisted by his former pastor, Rev. Gunderson. Interment will be made at the local cemetery. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing relatives in their great bereavement.
