Dorothy C. Bolin, age 87, of Ranier, died Wednesday morning, December 17, 2003, at Falls Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1916, at Plummer, Mn. She was the oldest child and an identical twin born to Katie and Wilfred Morrissette.

She graduated from Plummer High School in 1934 and attended teachers training in Red Lake Falls; she received her teachers certification at Bemidji State College.

On July 18, 1942, she married Earl Bolin from Big Lake, Mn, in Brooklyn New York, moving to Int'l Falls in 1945 after Earl was discharged from the service.

She was a teacher in country schools in Danvers and DeGraff, Mn., before her marriage and at the St. Thomas Catholic School for 18 years until retiring in 1979.

After raising their 7 children in Int'l Falls and upon retirement, Dorothy and Earl lived in their home on the Big Fork River in Big Falls, MN. Dorothy moved back to Int'l Falls upon Earls death in 1986. She has resided at the Ranier Roost for the past 5 years.

She was a wonderful teacher, not only in the classroom, but in life. She had a great sense of humor and saw the best in everyone. She loved to play cards, travel, read and enjoyed family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Earl, her parents; Wilfred and Kathie Morrissette, twin sister Doris Asselin and brothers Eugene and Maurice Morrissette.

She is survived by 4 sons: Ronald (Sandie) of Zimmerman, Mn. Keith (Melody) of Duluth, Gerald (Fay) of Sauk Rapids, Mn., and Michael (Barbara) of Maple Grove, Mn. 3 daughters: Ann Coulombe of Int'l Falls, Barbara (Jeff) Bishop of Brooklyn Park and Patricia (Terry) Prebalick of Sonora, Ca. 17 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by 1 brother, Edward (Alice) Morrissette of Bemidji and 4 sisters: Beulah Peterson of Bemidji, Isabelle Gribbon of Southgate, MI., Louella Yelle of West Covina, CA and Marie (Dale) Stebe of Bemidji.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday evening, Dec. 19, at Green-Larsen Memorial Chapel with the Rosary at 6:30 pm.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Fr. Tom Meyer, OMI will officiate.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Big Falls, Mn.
Arrangements are with Green-Larsen Mortuary, Inc.
