Services for William Edward "Ed" Crabtree, 88, of Springfield will be at 1 pm Wednesday , July 31 in Summersville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Emmet Bradford & Leland Stoops officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, Hartshorn.

Ed died at 12:15 am on Monday, July 29, 1985 in the Green Haven Nursing Home after a long illness.

He was a member of the Midvale Pentecostal Holiness Church. He had lived and worked in the Hartshorn and Summersville area for most of his life. His occupations had included logging, owning and operating sawmills, fireman on the railroad. He and his wife had moved to Springfield two years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice (Olson) Crabtree; two daughters, Wilma Fay Jackson, Overland, MO and Sherrye Piatt, Springfield; a stepdaughter, Vivian (Donald) Stringer, Hartshorn, MO; two stepsons, Miles Owen (Margaret) Smith, Houston, MO and Kenneth (Roberta) Smith, Marshfield, MO; two sisters, Minnie Atchison and Susie Brown, both of Hartshorn; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Rebecca (Dye) Crabtree of Hartshorn, and two sisters, Martha Brim Atchison and Josephine Crabtree.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
