Birth: Apr. 16, 1906
Shelby County
Texas, USA
Death: Mar. 19, 1992
Webster Parish
Louisiana, USA

Olen Daris Wilson was born in Shelby County, Texas to James Taylor Wilson, Sr. and Ida Cornelia O'Banion, April 16, 1906 and passed away after a long illness.

When he was nine years old his mother died from Typhoid Fever, leaving behind five children under the age of nine.
They are as follows: Daris, Vonnie Lee, Margaret, James Taylor, Jr. and Benton Dugan Wilson.

His father married Edna Hughes Stack December 1915, she brought into this marriage two children, Maurice and Wayne Stack. As time passed James and Edna had eight more children, Ara, who had a twin brother that died at birth, Fred, Pirl, Perry, Rena, Tempie Ann and Victor Bill Wilson.
There was a total of fifteen children, of which Daris was the oldest.

Daris married Norma Lee Pate September 7, 1925 in Shelby County, Texas. Daris was always in love with Norma and treated her with great respect. He was a great father to his five daughters.

Daris was a faithful member of Bistineau Baptist Church, Heflin, Louisiana, church treasurer for over seventeen years and a deacon.

Daris had several jobs during his lifetime, but his main jobs were farming and working in Heflin, Louisiana for Woodard & Walker Sawmill. As his health declined he retired from the sawmill.

As his daughter, I want you to know what a GREAT man he was!
