Georgia P. Schoenberger, 86, died at 6:04 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

She was born May 3, 1923 in Upper Sandusky to Gust and Pearl (Heffelfinger) Lianos. She married Loren C. Schoenberger on Feb. 21, 1946 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jill (Robert) Simmons of Ada and Jan (Charles) Kiess of Madison; four grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Emily Kiess and Peter King; a great-grandchild, Eli W. King; a sister -in-law, Judy Lianos and a niece, Susie Lianos of Upper Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by a brother James Lianos.

She was a 1941 Upper Sandusky High School graduate. She had attended St. Mary's of the Spring College/Ohio Dominican University in Columbus. She had also attended Bowling Green Normal School and Ohio Northern University.

Georgia was a homemaker and a secretary at the former Wyandot Vault Co.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Women of the Church. Georgia was a member of the Thea Court 5 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Upper Sandusky Ladies Shrine Club, Warpole Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 366, American Legion Auxiliary Post 225, Wyandot Co. Historical Society, Wyandot Co. Farm Bureau, Star Players, Ram Boosters, an OSU Buckeye Booster, a charter member of the M.J. Hummel Club, a member of the Democratic national, state, and local committees.

She enjoyed attending high school sporting events, especially Rams and Lady Rams basketball games, traveling and going with Buckeye Boosters. She was a Hummel collector, a proud owner of a 1966 Ford Mustang and enjoyed vacationing at Lake Erie and Florida.

Most important in her life was family, home, friends and shared holidays.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky by Pastor Julianne Smith. A private burial service will be at Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
