Fanny's true name was Frances "Fanny" McKee Lowe. She was born 10-24-1862 in Elkhart, Polk Co., IA & died 9-12-1880 in Formoso, Jewell Co., KS @ 17 yrs & 19 days, the cause of death was typhoid fever. She left an infant Mildred Frances "Millie" Lowe in the care of the father William Thomas Lowe who subsequently remarried to a Malona Dickey on 3-23-1883 in Jewell Co., KS. Fanny was the only daughter of David & Henrietta McWillie McKee who came to America from Ireland in 1851. Her father David had died before Fanny was born, then her mother cared for her during her illness and a couple of months after her death her mother died from the same disease. Tragic circumstances which happened frequently in those days. I am a descendant of a brother of Fanny and have researched the McKee family extensively.
