LaVeda Eleanora Muthart, 80, of Alma died Tuesday,
April 5, 2005, at Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical
Free Church in Holdrege with the Rev. Glenn Saaman of the
Alma Evangelical Free Church officiating. Burial will be at
Moses Hill Cemetery in Loomis.
Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today at Banta-Torrey
Funeral Home in Alma and 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church
She was born Aug. 22, 1924, northeast of Loomis to Hugo and
Sarah (Carlson) Abramson.
On April 2, 1948, she married Richard Muthart in Holdrege.
She attended school in Holdrege where she graduated from
high school in 1943.
Following high school, she continued to live with her
parents and worked at the ice cream plant. She later worked
for a short time at Norris Drug Store in Holdrege and then
at Noble Drug Store in Holdrege as a bookkeeper until she
retired in 1989 after 55 years. She continued to work there
part-time for 10 years.
She and her husband lived in Holdrege until moving to
Atlanta in 1968. They moved to Alma in 1983.
Because of failing health she entered the Franklin Nursing
Home on July 2, 2003, and moved to Colonial Villa Good
Samaritan Center in Alma on Aug. 19, 2003.
She had maintained her membership in Trinity Evangelical
Free Church in Holdrege.
She was preceded in death by her mother, on Feb. 14, 1988;
her father, in 1973; brothers, Wayne and Dale; and
brother-in-law, Dale Nelson.
