Wiemar Martin Scheidt was the son of John and Agnes Scheidt. He married Juliana Elizabeth Knoepker, the daughter of Herman Knoepker and Carolina Hoeland, natives of Germany. Wiemar and Juliana were married June 15, 1869 in Moniteau County, Missouri. They were the parents of eleven children: Emma, Caroline "Carrie", Elizabeth, John Harmon, Benjamin Robert, Julian, Bertha Christine, Minnie, Leo Charley, Louis and Alfred Scheidt. Wimar farmed in Montieau County, Missouri until shortly before 1880 when he moved his family to Labette County, Kansas.

Wiemar served in the army during the Civil War:
Shide, Wemer rank Private Company B Captain Perry. He enlisted Oct 26, 1864 in Jefferson City, Missouri, was mustered in in that city Nov 18, 1864 and was transferred out of Co C July 15, 1865.
