Preston Wisely, 69, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at the family farm in Sumner, Texas.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at South Hills Baptist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

Preston Fuller Wisely was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Sumner to Lee Roy & Ola Ann Floyd Wisely. He was a graduate of Paris High School, was honorably discharged from the Army and was a graduate of the University of North Texas. He was a chief chemist who retired after 39 years from General Dynamics and a long time Fort Worth resident.

He was a member of South Hills Baptist Church, enjoyed community involvment, playing golf, bowling and spending time with his family.

Survivors: Wife of 39 years, Mamie; daughter, Melissa; son and daughter-in-law, James and Brenda; sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Morris Dicken; grandson, Landon Wisely; granddaughter, Kristen Davis; aunt, Evelyn Scott; uncle, Lloyd Wisely; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
