Doyle Nichols, prominent resident of the Micola vicinity, passed away rather suddenly at his home there Wednesday evening at 8:40 o'clock. He had been a sufferer from leakage of the heart for some time but he was stricken rather suddenly as he had not seemed to be any worse than usual.
Mr. Nichols was born in Tennessee, Feb. 25, 1870, and would have been 65 years of age had he lived until next Monday. He lived in Micola for many years, where he reared a family, his first wife having preceded him in death several years ago. A few years later he was married to Mrs. Carrie Nations of this city and they continued to live at Micola, where he has land interests and has been engaged in farming since coming here.
Although Mr. Nichols was not affiliated with any church he was charitable inclined and devoted much time to the betterment of his community during his active life.
Survivors of the deceased include three sons and one daughter, Lex of Tucson, Ariz., Roy of Holly, Mich., Dee Nichols of Micola and Mrs. Rex Bostic, also living at Micola; two brothers Parker of Micola and Tom Nichols of Game, and two sisters, Miss Mattie Nichols of Memphis and Mrs. Annie Etheridge of Slaughter, Miss. Also there are two step-daughters, Mrs. Wallace Milliken and Mrs. Maurine Nails, both of the Micola vicinity.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at his home, the service conducted by the Rev. D.K. Foster, and interment will be in Little Prairie cemetery near this city.
