MONTGOMERY -- Services for Charlie L. Dement Sr. will be at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jessie Watkins and W. B. Paige officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery under direction of Blanchard-St. Denis.

Dement, 80, of Keithville died at 2 a.m. Tuesday in Grant Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.

He was a retired carpenter and a native of Montgomery.

Survivors include one son, Charlie L. Dement Jr. of Keithville; one sister, Myrtle Crittenden of Houston; two half-sisters, Lizzie Hernandez and Opel Pender, both of Montgomery; two brothers, John Dement of Natchitoches and Jessie Dement of Smithville, Texas; two half-brothers, J. M. Dement of Montgomery and George Dement of Houma; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call until time of services today in the church.
