OBITUARY-THE TECUMSEH CHIEFTAIN
Abraham Sherman, a well known pioneer settler and old soldier, died at the family home in Tecumseh, at 3:30 o'clock, p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 1913. He was aged 75 years, eight months and nineteen days.
Abram Sherman was a native of New York state, having been born at Painted Post, Steuben county. He was engaged in farming in that state and later in Ohio, until the outbreak of the Civil War, when he enlisted in the army, his company being Company C, Fifteenth Ohio Infantry. he served for four years and eleven months, being mustered out at the close of the war as a wagon master. In 1869 Mr. Sherman was married to the faithful wife of all these years, who survives him, Miss Alice Rhea, at Yates City, Ills. Four children were born to this union, two sons and two daughters.
