MRS. LOUISA M. ANDERSON
Mrs. Louisa M. Anderson died at the home of her son-in-law, James Lane, in this city, at 12:45 o'clock a.m. Tuesday morning, March 10, 1931, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 9 days.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. A. Jones, of the Assembly of God church, were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Goshen cemetery.
Louisa M. Kettle, daughter of Thomas and Mary Kettle, was born in Jacksonville, Switzerland county, Indiana, on March 23, 1852. She was married in Brown county, Indiana, on September 16, 1869, to John W. Anderson.
To them twelve children were born, seven of whom have gone on before. Those surviving are Mrs. Louetta Mundell and Mrs. Mary Mundell, of Lucas; Wesley and Earl, of Chariton; and Elery, of St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr. Anderson died on March 9, 1898.
In 1879 Mrs. Anderson and family moved from Indiana to Kearney county, Nebraska. In 1891 they came to Iowa and located in Lucas county where they resided until death claimed her.
Early in life she was converted and baptized and united with the Christian church, later transferring her membership to the United Brethren church. She lived an earnest, faithful Christian life, and in conversation with Rev. Jones a few days before her demise, expressed the desire to be called to her heavenly home, and stated that she was ready to go and sang a hymn in a calm and clear voice.
She was a good woman, a devoted wife and mother, a splendid neighbor, and a true friend. Besides the children mentioned above she is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
