She was born March 5, 1923, in Leoti, to George Jeff and Minnie Robison Gilmore.
A homemaker, Mrs. Asmussen had been a lifetime Wichita County resident. She was a member of Leoti United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge and the Wichita County Democratic Party, all at Leoti. She was always very involved with the family and her church.
On Oct. 4, 1942, she married Harold H. Asmussen in Scott City. He died Oct. 11, 1996, in Garden City. She also was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Carl, Melvin, Lloyd and Junior Gilmore.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Asmussen of Peyton, Colo., and Terry Asmussen of Argonia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Bauck of Leoti.
Funeral was at the United Methodist Church in Leoti. Burial was in Leoti Cemetery.
