"A Good Hope For The Future"
William Curtis Payne gave the land for a cemetery at Good Hope Church in the spring of 1856 near the time of his wife Sarah's death. A Baptist church had been established in the 1840's and a school was held there at various times. The community of Robbins Crossroads had settlers from the Carolina's , Georgia , Tennessee and Kentucky who had moved there with the "good hope " for the future.
