1st SGT US Army, WWII. C.R.Anderson dies. Charles Robert Anderson, Delta County Commissioner, died at 6:20 Monday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris, following a heart attack. Mr. Anderson had been ill for about one month. A life long resident of Delta county, Mr. Anderson was re-elected to a third term as Commissioner of Precinct Two, in the May Democratic Party Primary. Son of Kenneth and Ruby (Gentry) Anderson, he was born in Delta county November 4, 1921. He was married to the former Georgia Cherry on February 6, 1943, in San Antonio. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Georgia; one son, Gary Anderson; one daughter, Gloria Jean Buchanan; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Mel Brackeen, all of Cooper; three brothers, Loyd Anderson of Little Elm, Melvin Brackeen of Cockrell Hill and Mickey Brackeen of Cooper; one sister, Mrs. Wanda Talley of Cooper; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Anderson were held at 2PM Tuesday in the Antioch Baptist Church, the Rev. Rickey Mitchell officiating. Burial was made in the New Klondike Cemetery under the direction of McClanahan & Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Conway Lowery, Mickey Goforth, Ardel Allison, Elmo Brown, Elroy Stegall and Leo Millard.
