Judith Ann Adams was born in Yakima, Washington to Dayle and Keldon Adams. She moved to the Alaska Territory as a young child, and lived for a time on a Hollis mining claim on Prince of Wales Island with her family. She attended school in Ketchikan until her freshman year of high school.
Her parents divorced when she was nine years old, and eventually she lived with her father and stepmother, Judith Chilton Adams, in Ketchikan until they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1956. She graduated in 1960 from Bellevue High School while living with her grandparents in Bellevue, Wash.
She married at a young age, and had two sons and a daughter. After she divorced her first husband, she raised her children in the greater Seattle area. She worked for years as an executive secretary and paralegal for a major law firm in downtown Seattle before moving to California.
She died in Oroville, California on February 25, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her sons Martin and Keldon, daughter Rebecca, and four grandchildren.
