Richard E. Putry, 79 years, of Monclova, died August 15, 2009, at Toledo Hospital.
He was the loving husband of Sharon. He was born to Edward O. and Clara (Rutkowski) Putry June 19, 1930, in Toledo.
Richard graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1948 and attended the University of Toledo.
He worked at B.R. Baker Clothing Co. and A & P Tea Co. in his early years, then for Kuhlman Corp. for over 40 years, completing his career as their Purchasing Agent.
He was a Navy Corpsman, attached to the Marines during the Korean conflict.
He enjoyed his friends, family, gardening and various hobbies.
His memberships included the Toledo Host Lions Club, the Sight Center, of which he was on the Board of Trustees; and the Old Newsboys Goodfellows Association.
He was associated with the Zion United Methodist Church in Toledo and loved being a frequent usher as well as serving on the Board of Trustees.
His survivors include his loving wife, Sharon; son, Kevin of Columbus; nephews, Bruce (Barbe Fisher) Denman and Pat (Deb) Denman; great-nephew, Jay Denman; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Joanne Seiple.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geraldine Denman.
Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road Monday 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, Copland Blvd. and the Anthony Wayne Trail where services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg.
Memorials may take the form of a contribution to Zion Church.
