Mrs Noble Ross Dies at her Home in Beloit
Beloit, Wis, March 3 ---Mrs Noble James Ross, a resident of Beloit for 70 years, died at 11:30 am yesterday at her home, 819 Park ave, after a lingering illness. She was 84 years old.
Mrs Ross was born near Waukesha, Wis, May 23 1852, the daughter of Hamilton and Caroline Marble Nelson. She came to Beloit in 1866 with her parents. She was married to N. J. Ross in 1878.
Active and interested in affairs at the First Congregational church, Mrs Ross was prominent in charitable and social organizations, and was a former member of the choir. She was a charter member of the East End Club.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs Homer R Dopp, Oconomowoc, Wis.; a son, Hamilton Nelson Ross, Geneva, Ill; and seven grandchildren, Gilbert R Dopp, Washington, DC; Rodger R Dopp, Beloit; Mary Evelyn Dopp, Oconomowoc; and Ann, Hamilton, Edward and Dorothy Ross, all of Geneva.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday in the chapel of the First Congregational church.
