Died from a gun shot would to the head. Wright Rouse (a conjurman/witchdoctor) pulled the trigger at the request of Willie's wife, Sarah Whitley, and her lover, Tom Hayes. Wright Rouse died in prison in Raleigh of stomach cancer and Sarah also died at the state prison of nephritis.
