Miss O'Malley was our first family pet. She was born in Alaska just outside Anchorage. When we went to pick-out our Irish Wolfhound puppy she stood out from the rest. She was quiet and gentle while her litter mates were loud and rough. And from that day she became part of our family.
O'Malley used to look out our front window and the lace curtain would drape over her head making it look as though she was wearing a lace scarf. So, she gained the nickname of "Mother O'Malley" because she looked like a little old Irish lady :o)
One Sunday when my family and I had returned from church and I noticed that there was red that looked like blood all over my carpets in the family and living room. I though for certain that O'Malley had cut herself and was bleeding. We found in one of the bedrooms and she had red all over her mouth. I frantically began looking in her mouth for an injury when our daughter called from the living room and said "She's had eaten some of the red lacquered apple ornaments from the Christmas tree". I couldn't believe that this silly girl thought they were real and had eaten them!
She did not live long, only 5 years. O'Malley died of cancer in January of 1985. Our family has not been the same without her.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
