Ruth Mathilda Ammesmaki 1926 - 1999, 72, of Duluth, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in Park Point Manor.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1926, in Cloquet to Charles and Sophie (Whitebird) Diver. She attended the White Earth Mission School in Odanah, Wis. She also attended Cloquet schools and graduated from St. Benedict's Mission in White Earth. She was also a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Minnesota Chippewa tribe.

She married Gerald Ammesmaki on July 2, 1977. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith (Munnell) Macias; her brothers, George Diver, Antoine Diver and John Diver; and her sisters, Josette Diver, Gertrude Diver Besto, Ethel Murray Diver and Eunice Cobenais.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald of Duluth; her brothers, Fabian Diver, Charles Diver and Donald Diver of Cleveland, Ohio; her sister, Gloria Bimberg of Menahga; her daughters, Roberta (Munnell) Johnson of Detroit Lakes, Kathleen (Munnell) Headbird of Cass Lake, Sandra Beauregard of Superior, Wis., Carol Jean (Beauregard) DeVerney of Duluth, Patty Jo and Kathy Beauregard, Donna Jean (Munnell) Baasola, Dorothy Baasola, Mary Ellen (Baasola) Garafola of Duluth, Debbie (Baasola) Meger of Fond Du Lac and Patty Jo (Baasola) Judnick of Virginia; and her sons, Michael Dennis Beauregard-Munnell of Fond du Lac, John Emile Baasola, Robert Anderson of Minneapolis and Joe Munnell of White Earth.

Visitation was held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Barr Brothers Funeral Home in Cloquet. The funeral mass will be held at the Holy Catholic Church in Cloquet today, Saturday at 11 a.m. Father Eugene Lyttle will officiate. Burial will be at Old Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Cloquet. Music will be by Rosemary Connor. Pallbearers will be Charles Diver, Lawrence Murray, Charles Smith, Kelly Diver, Bubba DeVerney and Don Diver. Arrangements by Barr Brothers Funeral Home, Cloquet.
