Husband and wife LEROY AND ERIA THOMPSON died a day apart at different convalescent homes in Modesto.
Mrs. Thompson was 90 when she died Thursday, April 14, 1999 at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital. Mr. Thompson was 91 when he died Friday, April 15, 1999 at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital.
ERIA LIDA THOMPSON was born June 3, 1908, in Tuttle, Oklahoma. She lived in Stanislaus County 55 years. LEROY ALFRED THOMPSON was born May 29, 1918. He lived in Stanislaus County 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
They are survived by Mrs. Thompson's children, Norma Darnell, Edna Whitfield and Maxine Baker; and 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson also is survived by her sister, Larkin Tucker of Arkansas.
A joint funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, April 20th, at Lakewood Funeral Home, Hughson, California, followed by burial at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
