Edward B. Hungerford
Birth: 1875
Death: 1948

Born in Watertown, he wrote two best selling books, "Planning a Trip Abroad" and "With the Doughboy in France," a journal of experiences of World War I. Other books written were, "The Story of the Rome, Watertown and Ogdensburgh Railroad"; The Story of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad"; "The Story of Public Utilities"; The Story of Louis Sherry and the business he built"; "The Modern Railroad"; "Locomotives on Parade"; and, "Wells Fargo, advancing the American Frontier." During his career, he also wrote for The Saturday Evening Post and Trains Magazine. He was looked upon by the news media and historians as an authority on the railroad history of Northern New York. He was a nephew of US Congressman Orville Hungerford and died at his home in New York City.
