Homemaker and cafe worker Julia Norton passed away at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton. The daughter of Elias and Bertha Greer Gentry, she ws born July 8,1903 in Waldron, Arkansas. She died April 6,1993 at the age of 89. A member of the Baptist Church she married Bill Norton on July 13,1924 in Calvin, Ok. He died March 23,1969. Survivors include four sons, William Jr. Norton of Rolla, Omar Levi Norton and Lenard Norton, both of Moscow, and Ernest Norton of Wagoner, Ok.; three daughters, Venita West, of Lodi, Ca., Louie Bell Smith of Wilburton, Ok, and Doylene Bell of Acampo, Ca., 33 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Linzy Norton. Funeral services were observed at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Hugoton. Rev. Larry Bradford presided. Gladys Renfro played the organ and Michelle Henne sang hymns. Serving as pallbearers were Jeffrey Norton, Larry Norton, Garry Norton, Neil Norton, Johnny Norton, Brian Norton, Bruce Norton and James Boddy. Burial was in the Hugoton Cemetery with Paul's Funeral Home performing the wishes of the family.
