Jeanette Loraine McClure Johnsen was born December 22, 1933. Jeanette (better known as Jean) was born the middle child of Commodore Cline McClure and Edith Elizabeth VanDyke McClure in Ovid, Colorado. Her siblings are older brother Wayne Arlen McClure and younger sister Beverly Kay McClure Powell. She moved early in life to Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Central High School in 1951.

On September 25, 1953 she married Robert (Bob) Nels Johnsen and moved to San Diego while Bob was in the Navy. After Bob completed his military duty, they moved back to Pueblo, Colorado Bob and Jean lived in a number of cities in Colorado including Pueblo, Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs. Bob and Jean had four children: Sharon Kay, James Howard, Lynn Leann and Larry Wayne. The Johnsen's moved to Cupertino, CA in 1972 and then to Meridian, ID in 1994.

Jean enjoyed family vacations, including trips to Disneyland, Phoenix, Hawaii, Paris and Australia. Jean enjoyed playing bridge, bunco, collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments, and American Indian art. She enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren and attending their sports and musical activities.

Jean spent the last 2½ years of her life at The Cottages in Meridian, where they provided full time care for her while she suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. She died on February 2, 2012.

Jean is survived by Sharon and husband, Dave, and their children, Kevin and Rusty Costello, Jim Johnsen, Lynn and husband, Rik, and their children, Ryan, Tyler, and Kyle Thomas.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 6 at Accent Funeral Home, 1303 N. Main Street, Meridian. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7 at 2:00 P.M. at Accent Funeral Home with a burial to follow at the Meridian Cemetery.
