Rosemarie Gaye "Chris" Alexander was given the name of Margaret Rosemary Gaston at the time of her birth. As an adult she chose to change her name. Margaret had her name changed to Rosemarie Gaye Alexander, which was the name she was using at the time she passed away. She joined the Womens Army Corps on 7/10/1944, and started going by the nickname of "Chris" which was short for her last name of "Criswell" during the time that she was married to George Robert Criswell Sr. "Chris" was only a nickname, and was never her legal name.

Rosemarie often used the last name of "Gaston de Foix" which was her family name many generations ago in France.
