Taken by Death After Lingering Illness
Mrs. Julia Powers,61, 1021 King Ave., wife of J. J. Powers, partner in the Black Diamond Coal Co., died early this morning following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Powers has been a resident of Lorain for the past 15 years, coming here from Manchester, Iowa. in 1919.
She was an active member of St. Mary's church and was prominent in the activities of the Auxiliary of Knights of St. John.
Beside her husband, she survived by two brothers, Michael J. Stone and Sidney Stone, Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Rev. J. Johnston, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in Calvary under the direction of Reichlin-Reidy-Scanlan.
