Max farmed with his father and later extensively on his own for over 50 years. He also served as a member of the New Madrid County School Board and was an avid hunter and fisherman in his earlier years.
Survivors include the following: his wife, Nadine Hollomon of Portageville; his sons, Michael Ryan Hollomon of Alexandria, Va., and Joe Max Hollomon of Madison, Miss.; his daughter, Suzanne Long of Woodridge, Ill.; two sisters, Christine Travis of Blytheville, Ark., and Kathleen Alford of Micola, Mo., and 9 grandchildren, and many, many friends.
Services were held October 24, 1998, at 11:00 a.m. at DeLisle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mark Inman officiated. Burial was in Portageville Cemetery.
