Emma Hehn, 84, Wishek, N.D., died Wednesday July 9, 2003, at Wishek Nursing Home, Wishek.

Emma Schlecht was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Fredonia, N.D., the daughter of Karl and Christine (Speidel) Schlecht. She grew up and attended school at Gackle, N.D. She married Eddie Hehn on Sept. 24, 1944, in Gackle. They lived on a farm southeast of Gackle, where they farmed for a year. They moved to her parents' family farm 15 miles south of Gackle, and farmed there until moving into Gackle, in the fall of 1991. He died Oct. 12, 1991. In September 1999, she entered Wishek Nursing Home. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gackle.

She is survived by two brothers, Arthur, Battle Grove, Wash., and Hilbert, Everett, Wash.; and a sister, Elsie Dodd, Everett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and five brothers.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Grace Baptist Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Jim Dick officiating.
Prayer service: 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Haut Funeral Home, Gackle.
Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial: Gackle Cemetery, Gackle.
