|Birth: ||Jun. 22, 1802|
|Death: ||Nov. 25, 1892|
Elizabeth "Eliza" Sims was born Jun 22, 1802 in Kentucky, parents unknown at this time. Her birth and death dates were recorded in a McIntire Family Bible.
On Jul 23, 1828, Eliza married Nicholas McIntire, born in Kentucky (1802-1859). Nicholas was a son of Major John S. McIntire, born in Virginia (1760-1826) and Elizabeth Howard, born in Kentucky (1783-1855).
Nicholas and Eliza settled into a life of farming in Fleming County, Kentucky, later Rowan County. They had eight children, all born in Kentucky: James McIntire (ca 1830-), Elizabeth Sims McIntire-Adams (1833-1913), William D. McIntire (ca 1835-), Amanda McIntire (ca 1838-), Mary W. McIntire-Adams (1840-ca 1860), Melvina McIntire-Wyatt (1844-1909), Alvira Jane McIntire-Bailey (ca 1847-), and Dr. Andrew L. McIntire (1850-1920).
After her husband Nicholas died in 1859, Eliza remarried to a Mr. Clack between 1860-1870. Information on this second marriage is not available as of this date.
By 1870, Eliza was a widow again, living with her daughter Melvina McIntire-Wyatt and her family in Rowan County. According to the 1880 census report, Eliza did not marry again and remained living with her daughter Melvina until she died on Nov 25, 1892.
It is unknown at this time if Eliza is buried with her first husband Nicholas McIntire and is one of the unreadable headstones in the Jones Cemetery in Bath County, Kentucky, or maybe buried elsewhere.
Eliza's married name at the time of her death was Clack, but she is entered here under the name of her first husband, Nicholas McIntire, and linked to him as spouse.
