Joe Pettigrew, 71, well known Indian citizen, died suddenly at his home in south part of town about 5 o'clock yesterday morning. He had been in his usual health and his death was unexpected.
Born in this vicinity Nov. 15, 1879, he spent practically his entire life here. He was a retired farmer.
Services will be at the home Friday at 2 p.m., Rev. A. B. Brown of Talihina officiating. Burial in the Indian cemetery near Fairview.
Survivors include his wife, Serena; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Digby, Davis, and Mrs. Lorene Greenwood, Stonewall, Okla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Caroline Stribling, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Lucile Looney, Davis; a half-brother, Arch Pettigrew, Ada, and three grandchildren.
