Sarah Elizabeth Davis, daughter of parents Benjamin Davis and Elizabeth(maiden name unknown) who were born in New York (according to 1850 NY census), was born in Essex county, Vermont-(source Sarah E. obituary) and was married in Cicero, NY to Charles Henry Pitcher. She had 9 children, two born in NY and the rest in Wisconsin. The proof of Sarah E. Davis parents comes form the 1840 census where Benjamin & Elizabeth lived in Cicero 2 years before Sarah's marriage and in 1850 Manilus,Onondaga, NY census it lists all the members of the Davis family AND shows Sarah E. living with her husband Charles H. Pitcher in Manlius!
Sarah E. life story was obtained from her obituary in the Neillsville Republican & Press newspaper 30 Oct. 1890. Her husband and Sarah moved to Neillsville in 1884 from Milwaukee, WI. They would visit Milwaukee often and receive vistors from there becsuse her daughter, Mrs. Mary Matilda Wendling(Pitcher) & husband John Wendling, lived in Milwaukee. After her death, her husband Charles H. Pitcher remarried(date unknown) to Anna Schults(Dufford).
