Lawrence William Farnsworth "Larry" passed away peacefully Monday Sept. 17, 2007 due to complications from an extended illness. He was born October 26, 1925 in Rupert, Idaho to Franklin Dennis Farnsworth and Venola Whitehead. He was an active member of the LDS church and the scouting program. He served in World War II in the Navy and loved his country all his life. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He is survived by his lifelong sweetheart Dora his children, Susan (Joe Mellen), Lance, LaVern "Ernie", Stephen (Brandy), Bruce (Vivian), and Jana (Roland Rasmussen), three brothers, Paul, Hal (Char, deceased), and Roy (Myrle) and three sisters, Faye (Dick Tholen), Elaine (Gerald Bettridge)and Lynn (Dick Price), and many brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dennis, John, and Ken and six sisters, Mildred Tullis, Venice Griggs, Doraine Williams, Marge Mitchell, Beth Sackett, and Noleen Jessup. Larry and Dora have 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, plus spouses and stepgrandchildren who have been a great joy to them. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm at the LDS church at 7171 S. 2700 W., West Jordan, on Thursday Sept. 20. The funeral will be on Friday, Sept. 21 at the LDS church at 9350 S. 300 E., Sandy at 11 a.m., with a viewing at 9:30 before. Burial will be at the Crescent Cemetery at 11105 S. State Street in Sandy. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary of Orem. Honey, Papa, Grandpa, Grandpa Great, rest in peace. We love you.
