Betty Lou Maycock, age 77, passed away on August 10, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She resided at 4253 West Paskay Drive (4400 South) in the Granger area of West Valley City, Utah at the time of her death.


Betty was born August 8, 1932 in Washington, Utah to Eugene Whitney and Lula Tobler Whitney.


She married Thomas S. Maycock on March 24, 1959 at the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.


Mom enjoyed caring for her family and serving others. She loved music, baking, writing poems, car rides, and sunshine.


Survived by her children, Stephen (MaryAnn) Maycock, Neal (Kristen) Maycock, and Donovan (Cecelia) Maycock, Diane Anderson, Jewel (Scott) Feely and Becky (Ubaldo) Reyes; siblings, Lewis (Mary) Whitney, Barbara Downard, Claudia (James) Eardley and Maureen (David) Linn, and 15 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Clark Whitney.


Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday morning at 9:45 a.m. prior to the services at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
