Mary F (Eoff) Holmes was the daughter of Robert M Eoff, a native of Tennessee, and Virginia A Beller, a native of Arkansas. Mary's siblings were William Frank Eoff, George Washington Eoff, James G Eoff (d.y.) Amanda Moore (Eoff) Cotner, Jasper Newton Eoff, Cintha Evaline (Eoff) Rea, Peter A Eoff (d.y.), Artimus Marion Eoff and Victoria Ann (Eoff) Hames. Robert Eoff farmed in Newton and Boone counties, Arkansas.

Mary married 1/ Albert Wilson Cooper, the son of L H and Frances Cooper, the former a native of Tennessee and the latter of Alabama. Mary and Albert were married March 20, 1881 in Boone County, Arkansas. Albert died the following year in 1882. Mary and Albert were the parents of Albert Cooper who died September 21, 1882 at the age of one month.

Mary married 2/ George W Holmes, the son of Moses Carpenter Holmes and Artemissa Emeline Forgey, natives of Tennessee. Mary and George were married April 7, 1887 in Boone County, Arkansas. They were the parents of Troy O Holmes, Bertha (Holmes) Thomason and George Hugh Holmes.

Due to Mary's ill health, George moved his family to Oklahoma but Mary died en route and is buried in Citra Cemetery in Hughes County, Oklahoma. George returned to Boone County, Arkansas to raise their children.
