DANVILLE, Ky. — Robert "Bob" Eugene Moore, 64, Danville, passed away Aug. 8, 2009, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky., after a short illness.
He was born to Carson Perry and Minnie Moore on March 22, 1945, in Wise, Va. He was a 1963 graduate of Anderson High School and resided in Anderson, Ind., until 1972 when he moved with his family to Kentucky, where he resided in Hustonville, Lancaster, Stanford and Danville.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Munich, Germany and Fort Knox, Ky. He was a retired engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad and also worked briefly for the Penn Central railroad in Indiana.
He was an active member of the Brotherhood of Local Engineers and of the AMVETS and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Danville chapters. Survivors include his daughter, Stacey (husband, Matthew) Moore Sanning; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma and Jacob Sanning, all of Butler, Ky.; two brothers and five sisters, Carol (wife, Ginger) Moore, Betty (husband, Jimmy) Addington, Sue (husband, J.T.) Winfrey, Wanda (husband, Larry) Ashba, all of Anderson, Ind., Brenda (husband, Howie) Sutton, of Middletown, Ind., David (wife, Barb) Moore of Markleville, Ind., and Mona (husband, Jack) Brown of Frankton, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carson Perry "David" and Minnie Moore of Anderson; a brother Jim Moore of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Nancy Moore of Glamorgan, Va.; a nephew, Ricky Addington of Anderson; and a niece, Sharilyn Moore of Anderson.
Robert was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.
Services will be held at noon Saturday at the Living Word Worship Center, 6865 S. 100W, Pendleton, Ind. Interment will be immediately afterward in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held Aug. 20 at 6:45 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 2162 California Crossroads, California, Ky.
