Funeral services for Etta Mae Kemp, 78, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. She died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. She was the former Etta Mae Jennings, and a native of Burkesville, Ky. Survivors include five sons, James H. Kemp, Sulfur, Harry O. Kemp, New Albany, Luther M. Kemp, Jeffersonville, Kenneth W. Kemp, Arizona, and Dennis L. Kemp, Beechwood; three daughters, Anna H. Thevenot, Palmyra, Mary E. Kemp, Jeffersonville, and Ruth A. Rochner, Corydon; a brother, Harry C. Jennings, Jeffersonville; three sisters, Margaret I. Brown, Zion Ill., Ruth McKinney, Jeffersonville, and Betty H. Moody, Clarksville; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 20.

Etta Mae Jennings Kemp, 78, Jeffersonville, died Monday, May 17, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. A native of Burkesville, Ky., born Jan. 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Eliza A. Bennett Jennings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob A. Kemp, and a brother, James L. Jennings. Survivors include five sons, James H. Kemp of Sulphur, Harry O. Kemp of New Albany, Luther M. Kemp Sr. of New Albany, Kenneth W. Kemp of Arkansas, and Dennis L. Kemp of Beechwood; three daughters, Anna B. Thevenot of Palmyra, Mary E. Kemp of New Albany and Ruth A. Rochner of Harrison County; a brother, Henry C. Jennings of Jeffersonville; three sisters, Margaret I. Brown of Zion, Ill., Ruth McKinney of Jeffersonville and Betty J. Moody of Clarksville; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Friday at Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville with burial in Eastern Cemetery. Pastor Mark Ruott officiated.
