SPRINGFIELD - JULIAN P. KIDWELL, 90, died Saturday at his home. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Abell Kidwell; two daughters, Patricia Montgomery and Lydia Sugarman; five stepsons, James, Dr. John, Michael, Billy and Patrick Abell; three stepdaughters, Caroline Griffith, Margaret Platt and Mary Alice Smith; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; two step-greatgrandchildren; a brother, Hilman Kidwell; a sister, Teresa McCandless; and his faithful caregiver, Ann Foster Knott. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton, Ky. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Monday at Carey and Son Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

JULIAN P. KIDWELL, 90, of Mayes Avenue, Springfield, died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at his home. A native of Washington County, he was born March 29, 1913 to the late Joseph Edward and Mary Praxie Newton Kidwell. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, a farmer and land dealer. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Margaret Greene and Rosaline Thomas and four brothers, Ed Kidwell, Bert Kidwell, Tommy Kidwell and Frannie Kidwell. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Abell Kidwell; two daughters, Patricia Montgomery and her husband, Richard, of Louisville, and Lydia Sugarman of Manhattan, New York; three step-daughters, Carolyn Griffith, Margaret Platt and her husband, Ray, and Mary Alice Smith and her husband, Wayne, all of Springfield; five step-sons, James Abell, Michael Abell and his wife, Teresa, Billy Abell and his wife, Rose Marie, all of Springfield; Dr. John Abell and his wife, Chris of Peachtree City, Georgia; and Patrick Abell and his wife, Laura, of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Alex, and Matthew Montgomery, Ellen VanHamburg, Julianne McGrath, Bradley Scott Woods, Meredith Ann Woods, and Justin Erneberger; three great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Hilman Kidwell of London Mills, Illinois and a sister, Teresa McCandless of Louisville; and caregiver, Ann Foster Knott. A prayer service was held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Manton with Rev. Bill Kidwell officiating. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were the stepchildren. Casketbearers were Christopher Montgomery, Alex Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, Steve Hale, Jerry Pinkston, and Joe Wimsatt.
