DELOZIER, CORA MAPLES - age 84 of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at her home. Preceded in death by: parents, Robert and Beulah Maples brother, Luther Maples sisters, Iona McMillian, Orletta Mynatt, Gladys Etherton, and daughter Lola Janette Inman. She is survived by: husband of 45 years, William Carl DeLozier daughter and son-in-law Betty and Joe Newman grandsons Joe, Jr. and John Newman granddaughter Elizabeth Byrd great grandchildren, Nicci Hodge and Cody Hodge and great great grandson, Brady Grant McCoy Hodge as well as sister Ruby Adcock and brother Lee Roy Maples and several loving nieces and nephews. She was a life long member of Huckleberry Springs United Methodist Church where she was a faithful and diligent worker, having held nearly every office and position within the local Church. Her constant prayer of thanksgiving for "the means of Grace and the hope of Glory" has now been experienced. May God be glorified. In lieu of flowers, at Cora's request, donations may be made to daughter Betty Newman to be used for Huckleberry Springs Church. Serving as pallbearers will be: Chuck Burkhart, Perry Snyder, Oliver Maples, Ben Maples, Fred Mynatt, Bob Adcock. Honorary pallbearers: Keith Mertin, Cecil Frazier, and Harvey Pickel. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2004 in the Evergreen Chapel at 8 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Goins and Rev. Cliff Amos officiating. Family and friends will meet in the Huckelberry Springs Cemetery Saturday at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. interment service. The DeLozier family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. Evergreen Chapel and Memorial Garden in charge of arrangements.
