Henry T. Olmsted, 73, of 2423 State St., New Holstein, died Sunday evening at his home after a lingering illness. He was born In Fond du Lac on Sept. 20, 1884, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Olmsted. He attended Milwaukee public schools and was employed as a machinist most of his life at the Lauson Engine Co., New Holstein, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. On Aug. 11, 1917, he married Hilda Schoen in New Holstein.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Gordon of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Faye) Mertens of Kiel; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Dorrance of Racine and Charles of West Allis. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services will be held at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home in New Holstein. The Rev. Roland Kley, pastor of St. Johns Evangelical and Reformed church, will officiate and burial will be in New Holstein City Cemetery.
